Is this Korea job offer real?
Someone sent you a form, a fee or a promise. Here is what SLBFE's own notices say is possible, so you can tell in a minute. Forward this page instead of the money.
Eight things that are always true
Each one is in SLBFE's or HRD Korea's own notice, linked. If an offer breaks any of them, the offer is not real.
- 1Only SLBFE recruits for Korea's EPS. It is a government-to-government programme; SLBFE is Sri Lanka's only sending agency (SLBFE notice ↗).
- 2No agency, licensed or not, may offer you an EPS job. A licence is for other countries. Nobody is approved to “register” or “guarantee” you.
- 3The only fee is the test fee: US$28 (LKR 9,250 this round). There is no registration, processing, training or “roster” fee in the selection.
- 4The fee is paid at a bank counter, into accounts named in SLBFE's instructions. In the last round online and ATM payments were refused (SLBFE instructions ↗). Never into a person's account.
- 5Applications go through slbfe.lk only. Not a Google Form, not a WhatsApp number, not a look-alike website.
- 6No private party is approved for E-8 seasonal jobs. SLBFE said so on February 7, 2025 and called such offers illegal (SLBFE ↗).
- 7A visit visa does not become a work visa. Illegal stay in Korea, even for a day, bars you from the EPS.
- 8Passing does not guarantee a job. A pass is valid 2 years on a roster from which Korean employers choose. Nobody can move you up it.

Signs it is not real
Any one of these is enough.
- Asks for more than the US$28 test fee, for any reason
- Promises a job, a “sure pass”, a quota or a roster place
- Offers an E-8 seasonal job through an agency, a person or a group
- Sends a Google Form, a WhatsApp number or a website that is not slbfe.lk
- Wants the fee online, by ATM or into a personal account
- Says you can go on a visit visa and change it in Korea
- Says no EPS-TOPIK or skills test is needed
- Wants your passport, NIC or SLBFE login to “apply for you”
“But they are SLBFE-licensed.” A licence lets an agency recruit for other countries. It gives no right to recruit for Korea's EPS. Check the licence anyway: if it is not even licensed, you have two reasons to walk away.

What a real notice looks like
- It is on slbfe.lk, under Main Countries → Korea (here ↗), in Sinhala, Tamil and English.
- It is a PDF notice headed by Korea's Ministry of Employment and Labor, HRD Korea and SLBFE, with the quota, dates and fee inside (the current one ↗).
- Admissions and results are downloaded from services.slbfe.lk (Korea downloads ↗), never sent to you by a person.
- It never names an agent, a class or a contact who can help. The hotline is the only contact.
